Why the IPSF? – We Stand for an Objective, Transparent, and Equal System for Every Athlete

A Sport Can Truly Be Valuable When Everyone Competes for the Same Opportunities

For the Hungarian Pole & Aerial Sports Federation (MRLSZ), it is of utmost importance to operate and represent a competition system in which every athlete can compete under the same rules, the same principles, and transparent conditions.

This is why we have chosen to represent and operate the International Pole & Aerial Sports Federation (IPSF) system in Hungary.

For us, the essence of sport is that performance — on the pole or in the air — should determine the outcome.

It should not matter who you know.
It should not matter what background you come from.
There should be no selected athletes or individual exceptions.

Performance should matter.

Objective Evaluation, Common Rules

One of the key strengths of the IPSF system, in our view, is its unified evaluation system.

Pole Sports is evaluated according to the IPSF Code of Points, which defines the professional criteria and scoring system used in competition. The IPSF also operates dedicated judge education and certification systems, designed to ensure that judges have consistent professional knowledge and appropriate preparation.

This is important to us because every athlete should know:

they are expected to meet the same standards as every other competitor.

This makes athletic performance comparable and assessable according to clearly defined criteria.

There Are No Selected Athletes

One of the MRLSZ's fundamental professional principles is to support every athlete equally.

We do not want a system in which selected athletes receive special opportunities.

We do not want an athlete to have a greater chance simply because they are well known, have been involved in the sport for longer, or have personal connections.

An athlete should earn their opportunities through performance.

This is also why we consider the IPSF qualification system so important.

The road to the World Championships is based on defined competitions, defined rules, and measurable results. The official IPSF rules establish the qualification requirements and determine how athletes can earn qualification in the various categories.

Performance Earns the Right to Compete at the World Championships

For us, this is one of the most important principles.

We do not want to select World Championship athletes based on personal preferences or individual decisions.

Our goal is for athletes to earn their opportunity through their results.

This is important not only for the strongest athletes.

It is equally important for the athlete who may currently be in the middle of the field, but knows that through hard work, development and improved performance, the same opportunity can become available to them.

That creates genuine motivation for athletes.

Every Competitor Matters

Sportsmanship is not only about those who stand on the podium.

For MRLSZ, it is important that every athlete feels that they are an equally valuable part of the competition and the community.

That is why we strive to ensure that every participant receives the same recognition at our competitions.

There are no “more important” and “less important” athletes.

Everyone who enters the competition, prepares, steps onto the stage and gives their best is part of the same sporting community.

Placements are recorded clearly and transparently, and athletic achievements are recognized through official results, medals and, where appropriate, trophies.

Clear Results and Traceable Performance

A sporting achievement has real value when it can be clearly established later:

  • who competed,

  • in which category,

  • at which competition,

  • what result they achieved,

  • according to which rules they were evaluated,

  • and what place they earned.

That is why we consider official results and proper documentation of sporting achievements so important.

Our goal is for an athlete's result to matter not only on the day of the competition, but also to remain available later as a verifiable and officially documented sporting achievement.

The Judging System Serves Fair Competition

Within the IPSF system, the professional education and certification of judges receive particular attention. The IPSF operates a structured judge education system, while its rules also address potential conflicts of interest.

The purpose of the judging system is to ensure that athletes' performances are evaluated according to clearly defined professional criteria.

For us, this is not simply an administrative matter.

It is part of respecting the sport.

Why Do We Believe This System Is in the Athletes' Best Interest?

Because a fair and transparent system gives every athlete the opportunity to develop.

The athlete knows what they need to achieve.

The coach knows what they need to prepare the athlete for.

The judge knows according to which rules the performance must be evaluated.

And the federation knows according to which objective system competitions should be conducted.

This is in everyone's common interest.

Why Did We Choose This Path?

The goal of MRLSZ is not to give an advantage to a handful of selected athletes.

Our goal is to build a sporting environment where everyone starts with the same opportunity.

Those who develop can achieve results.

Those who achieve results can progress.

Those who earn qualification can move to the next level.

And those who earn their place according to the qualification rules can represent Hungary on the international stage.

This is the system we believe in: performance, rules, transparency and sportsmanship.

For the Future of Our Sport

MRLSZ's interest is to ensure that Hungarian pole and aerial sports remain a discipline in which athletes can trust the system in the long term.

For that to happen, everyone needs to be able to feel the same thing:

I have a chance.

Not because I was selected.

But because if I work hard, improve and perform well, my results can open the door to the next opportunity.

This is why we have chosen the IPSF system.

Because we believe that sport is at its fairest when the same rules give everyone an opportunity — and ultimately, performance decides.
